About Peggy Rowe-Snyder's Genealogy Pages
It turns out I am the all American Mutt!! I am of the typical European
Descent. And you know the more I find out the prouder I am of my roots.
I have Danish roots, Neilson`s who came from Jutland around 1880. My Rowe`s
I`ve traced back as far as Somerset County, Maine. My great great grandfather
Alden Rowe brought his wife, and first children in a covered wagon to
California to mine for gold. Dutch roots are the Vanatta`s who came to
America when New York was New Amesterdam. A few generations later in 1854,
Gearshum and Wife made it from Illinois to Linn, Oregon via covered wagon on
the Oregon trail. I have Clapp`s from Germany! I also have a couple of
Pilgrims in my line, Richard Warren came over on the Mayflower. One of his
granddaughters, married a grandson of Edward Bompasse who came over on the
second ship in 1621, the good ship Fortune. I have Stuarts, McClaskey`s, and
Murphey`s who are all no doubt of Celtic heritage. I have Shatto`s who might
have come from Chateu`s, and maybe French Hugeonuts. I have more than this
site can show, and I`m always looking for more information and am willing to
share all that I have in order to help make a more complete picture of the
history. And these are just SOME of the details!
